“The Hobbit” Reading Journal Blog

Since the third “Hobbit” movie is going to be released soon, I have decided to read the book. I have now read the first five chapters and I really like it so far. I especially like the fifth chapter (“Riddles in the Dark”) where Bilbo and Gollum have a game of riddles. Since I already saw the movie, I actually knew the answers to the riddles but it was still really interesting to see the two of them guessing the answers. I really like the story of “The Hobbit” because it shows how a young Hobbit who spent most of his life relaxing in the Shire, transform into a brave young Hobbit who must now take on a dragon. I also really like Gandalf, because he is a very powerful wizard and he took on a Balrog in “Lord of the Rings”. What’s not to like about him? He was also the one talked Bilbo into accompanying himself and the dwarfs to reclaim the kingdom. Even though I have already seen the two movies that came out, I am still very excited to continue reading the book, and compare the similarities and differences between the movie and the book. And although “The Hobbit” isn’t as good as “The Lord of the Rings”, it is still exciting and adventurous, so I would highly recommend others to check it out.

Presentation Evaluation

I think, overall, our group did a pretty good job. We all made our own video and we explained our information very clearly. We used different ways to present our video. King and Josh used Explee and I used used scenes from the film, “Schindler’s List”.
